Hello, can anyone tell me what I need to type in to forward port 3389 on my cisco 831 router? I have one pc set up with a static ip in Windows xp and that's the machine I would like to have remote access too but I'm not sure how I do that, I have an access list of ports I allow to be open but I am not sure how to go about opening that port and then forwarding the port to the ip address I have set? Thank you.

don't forget to allow this in via the ACL on e1, because ethernet1 will actually be the outside interface, not e0. That would be the inside (LAN) interface. But that is not important really. Lambent had the gist of it.

for the access-list, assuming it is called inbound, the commands would look like this.

ip access-list extended inbound
permit tcp any any eq 3389

you can replace the 'any any' part with the correct subnet info, but remember to put it in properly. i.e. 192.168.1.0 0.0.0.255 instead of 255.255.255.0 just swap the 0's and 255's
