Hi,

After I connect to the net via a dial-up connection, is there a way I can find out what my IP address is? Also, does my IP address change each time I start a new dial-up connection?

- Andy.

Yeah, your IP changes each time you dial (unless you pay extra for the priveledge of having a "static IP").

In win95, 98, (don't know about ME)
click start, run
type winipcfg and hit enter. You should find the info here.

Other versions of Windows,

click start, run. Type command and hit enter.
type ipconfig /all and hit enter.
If the info flies off the screen too fast, pipe it to more
ipconfig /all |more
To exit the dos box, you will type exit and hit enter.

If you are also on a network, make sure that you are not looking at your local area network IP address (they WILL be different). Merry Christmas [santa]

Thanks for your suggestions.

Actually, I'm using XP and I found that by right-clicking the dial-up connection icon in the System Tray and going to Status it reports my IP address there.

Thanks,

- Andy.
