Hi,

How do I find the space usage of an index. Is it from the Partition map page, i.e. % full ? If I want to add a new index, what are the steps I need to follow. Please advise.

Regards,
Bala

if you are after 9.5 just log into the admin.index get into search volume and follow the Add Partition new wizard.Pls note that the hardware needs to support it.If the box is already tight as it is adding a new partition will not help.In that case create a secondary admin server and create your partitions there.

Well, if I called the wrong number, why did you answer the phone?

I don't have a clear understanding of Partition. What does it refer to. Does it refer to the livelink\index\enterprise\index folder in the admin server where the index is stored? or it refers to the RAM content where the index is stored. If someone can explain in detail, it would be more helpful.

do you not have access to KB.If not the online admin documentation has all the details as well.Do U have a working admin server? The 9.5 architechture which is called "OT 7 architechture" is very verbose to explain in this forum as one has to read up on it.But OT has done a great deal of explaining it with simple pictures and text as well.
