I just installed ASA v2.1 and I'm trying to export but nothing happens. I'm trying to export station/port/name/type info to either a text or excel, but the exporting process is not working.

Am I missing something? Connection? Setting?

Operating on a G3r v12.

THanks.

One easy way to export station is just list stations,
· Go to File
· Export
· In the export format window pick a FILE location that you can find easy
· Pick a File name
· Under Field Delimiter pick Tab or space
· Text Qualifiers- none

Look for a “Txt file” not a Excel file and but use Excel to open it.
Hope this help. If you open as a Txt file you can copy and paste to Excel.

This is a long post but I hope it's useful to you:

First you should make sure the export is actually happening.

Check the History and Schedule tab at the bottom of the ASA window. If you don't see these tabs press F10 or select View Status from the menu bar.

Check to make sure that the export ran. If in the History tab you have a Red Circle with an X in it, it probably says "Command Failed: An automatic login connection is required. Manual Login is not allowed for scheduled jobs." Or it says "The task could not be executed on any configured connection"

You should also check the Schedule Tab. There should be a Green flag to show the export ran successfully. If you have a Red flag with the word Failed next to it, well, it failed. The status column probably says something like "The task could not be executed on any configured connection." You might also have a stopwatch and the word Retry next to it, with a status of "Command failed: An automatic login connection is required. Manual Login is not allowed for scheduled jobs."

If you have the Red circle with an X, the Red flag or the stopwatch, you need to change your login to an automatic login with the password saved. If you don't want to allow an automatic connection for security reasons, you will need to manually connect to the system, then close the GEDI or Emulation window. DON'T disconnect the connection, just close the window. Then click on the Red Flag and press F5, or right click on the Red Flag or Stopwatch and select Run Now. It might fail again, just run it again, it sometimes is funny that way.

If you want to make sure your information formats correctly within Excel, leave the field delimiter as a comma, leave the text qualifier as a quote, click on the ... next to the Export File field and change the file type to .csv, also make sure to save the file in a location you can find it.

Once the report is run, open Excel, goto File Open, change the file type to All Files and select your new exported file. A text import wizard will pop-up, select Delimited and next, click on comma and next, then click Finish.

Hope this helps.
