I am building a new Terminal Server and 2003 Server is the OS of choice. However, when I do the first initial update, IE8 is marked as a high-priority update and I am not given any choice of excluding it during the update. I can't use IE8 for compatibility reasons, and the Terminal Server will not be of satisfaction if it gets installed. But since I want the rest of the updates, I can't move forward until IE8 is excluded.

What should I do?

Either use the script available with the toolkit below or manually create the registry settings the script would create. The registry settings are described in the "Additional Information" portion of the following link as well as a download for the tool.

- Toolkit to Disable Automatic Delivery of Internet Explorer 8
