I downloaded a freeware program called "Keep Me Connected" so that I wouldn't keep getting disconnected by my ISP.

Little did I know that it would come with a pop-up window that tells me every few minutes that if I want to eliminate the pop-up all I have to do is upgrade for $9.95.

Needless to say,I want to delete this program but I find that no matter what I try it just won't go away!

I have tried the recycle bin,the incinerator and uninstall but it still hangs in there.

I am beginning to think that, like a cockroach, this program will be alive even when my hard drive eventually crashes.

Any solutions?

HI!

What OS do you use?

In Win98/ME try to run
MSCONFIG
and disable that program from the STARTUP tab if you see it there.

Also check the help file of that program and/or web-site.
You might find there uninstall instructions.

If no help, and you didn't find better solution:

In Windows 98 you can try running
SCANREG /RESTORE
from MSDOS command prompt only (or shutdown to MSDOS)
(Note: Scanreg keeps registry backups by default to the last 5 days)

In WinME you can try the System Restore utility.

Warning - both methodes will restore many things,
but if you restore to a state of few days ago and everything was working then, then normaly it can help.

Bye
