I have read man pages until I am blue in the face. But I can't for the life of me figure out how to clear the mailq. I vaguely remember a simple command that would allow me to get rid of all these old undeliverable messages.

Can anyone help?

Also, it seems that most of the emails are being held here with the message "Deferred: The connection is refused by ...(our email server)" I think that we implemented some spam prevention, but I don't know how to simply delete these messages instead of having them hog space in the mailq. Is there a way to automatically have mail messages deleted when "the connection is refused"?

I figured it out - the answer is in sendmail -q. For some reason the mail got stuck and was never FORCED out. This seemed to do the trick.

Thanks for the help :p
