I'm started to get frustrated with this. My local IS guys aren't being very helpful here.

I need a function or procedure that takes a textstring (that is the location of a tif file) and uses it to create an embedded OLE item in a table field that has a link to the file. The Microsoft help and the knowledge base has been cryptic.

Can anyone help me with this? It's the last item I need to iron out on this project.

Hi John,

I've read your question and I did something the same in a program of mine. I've used an activeX component named THBImage to vieuw various filetypes and to save and copy to clipboard and other functions. But take a look at and watch if this is something for you. If you decide to go and use is then you can always send me questions on irwo@omni-trade.nl.

Yours sincerely,

Oh, oh, oh...

I had this big wrong what you want to take, some time ago: I created form which saves embedded OLE (photos) in the table. Now user have collection of 550 photos in 680Mb!!! DB (each JPEG file had not more then 25kb)! Only just now I found a way how to extract these pictures from Acc DB.

My advice: create links or hyperlinks to image files!

P.S. Short time ago I created small DB which shows how to create hyperlinks to disk files by simple file(s) choosing on explore. I can send it you.
