how do i eject a backup tape from sco 5.0.7 unix

we are using sco 5.0.7 and backing up using an internal scsi ait-2 tape drive. i would like to eject the tape after the backup/verify.

i have tried:

tape unload
&
tape unload /dev/rStp0

but neither seemed to physically eject the tape.

any thoughts? thank you for your help
