How do I get a TOTAL at the end of my (less-than-one-page-in-length) report?

I have gathered that it is NOT SO SIMPLE as dragging my "Amount" field into the page footer and giving it the property of "running sum"....

...all that happened when I did that, whether I qualified it as "over group" or over all", was that I got the amount my last contributor gave, not how much everyone gave....

Thanks for the help!

You can total in the report footer or header.

If your report runs more than one page you can even do page totals by puting the following expression in the page footer or header as well.

Step 1
Create a new text box in either or both the footer and the header areas of what you wish to tally.Again this can be either or both the Report or Page areas. Report area will return an over all total of your scores, the page area will return a total of only the scores present on the page displayed.

Step 2
Enter the following expression (let's assume the feild you wish to total is call [price]and has been formated for number or currency display)

=sum([price])

Step 3
In the properties menu check the text box is formated to display the results in the correct format - ie number for numbers, currency for money.

Some other cool expresions you may wish to try are

=Min([price])

=Max([price])

=Avg([price])
