How do i display a list from 2 seperate sites on a third?

Hi, i've just started working with SahrePoint Team Services. Currently i've got 3 sites (for ease of use i'll call them 1, 2, 3) all three sites have issue lists, but i want to try and display the issues from sites 1 and 2 on site 3 along with site 3's own issues. so far i have not had any luck myself so is this possible without deviating from methods provided with SharePoint (RPC / XMLHTTP etc) and if so has anyone done it?
