I recently installed a Turtle Beach Sound Card on my Winxp machine...everything installed properly however I believe I have to disable the legacy sound in bios.

1) How do I get into bios :( (When my machine is booting f10 doesn't do anything and all f8 does is get me to a boot menu)

2) how do I actually disable it

Any feedback would help immensely!

Thank you

Jason

Depends on the computer/mobo. F10 is usually for accessing the BIOS on Compaq machines. If the machine has an Award/Phoenix BIOS, you can hold the DEL key at boot and it will break into the BIOS. If the mobo is jumperless, you can disable the sound from there.

Some mobos have a jumper that enables/disables the onboard sound, so you'll have to open the case and find it.

If you go into periphreals you can disable it through there, dont forget to disable the onboard game port as well if your sound card comes with one (most do). Just to prevent conflicts. Scotty Mac a.k.a smaxted

It is also possible, that there is a motherboard jumper that will enable/disable this function.
