I want to delete search phrases that I have typed in the past. For example I once did a search in google. Now, when I type the first few letters of the search string, the whole phrase displays. I want to delete these phrases and turn off this feature. How is done?

What browser and operating system are you using? It always helps to include such details [smile]

If you are using IE for Windows...
Tools > Internet Options > Content (tab) > Autocomplete (button)

You can then clear them and turn off autocomplete (for Web addresses).

Cheers,
Jeff

If you want to keep the feature on but only delete certain entries, you can do this:

Go to the web site and select the input box that has history
type a letter or just double click to get the list to drop down
use the cursor keys to highlight the entry in the list you want to delete (do not use the mouse or you will close the list)
In IE, hit "Delete" key
In Firefox, hit "Shift + Delete"
that one item is now gone
