How do I delegate permission to check backup

How do I delegate permission to junior staff to check that the backup has completed. I don't want them to logon as administrator. What permissions do they need?

Using Advanced Storage Option v7.0 (build 1067) on Windows 2000

Try giving them Backup Operators permission So it Shall be Written!
So it Shall be Done!!

Tried that, but they can't see any of the jobs. However they can see the activity log.
