How do I create/find a user options menu

At the moment we have around 20 different menus for users to select various applications from. What I would like to do is give everyone the same menu, on logging on they will then be given only the options they were allocated in a config file.
Does anyone know of any examples I could use or any general advice would be appreciated.

Have a look at faq80-1606 by Robert G Jordan. I'm not sure whether it will help in your particular case, but it might give you some pointers. HTH.
