How do I create an e-Commerce clock

I would like to create a clock like the MMG clock that counts the number of money in billions spent on the internet. I would start it at a number and use a formula to increase the numbers in "real-time", and have a link back to my site. Any suggestions on how to get started.

For some reason the MMG clock is no longer running and I think it's a great business tool.
