how do I create a window to allow user to type in user name and password in a modal window.

What I meant is when my asp file load I want this password window to popup.

Can someone help?

Javascript. You could open the popup from the original page from a link or image or I think even onblur. Then in that window place a form with your username and password text boxes. Have the form submit target the original window and close the popup.

But the popup is not modal. User can still click on another window.

If you are creating the site for IE only I think it's opemModalWindow or something like that. There is nothing you can do for cross-browser though. //**********************************//
