How Do I Create a Value Entries In a Registry Key 1

I know this must seem trivial, but I was looking through the API documentation regarding creating a value inside of a registry key, but it was not clear to me. I know how to create the key (ie. yellow folder), but found it obscure as to how to place a new list of values in it. Sample code perhaps?
