I need help creating a public folder in exchange 5.5. I would like to set up a public folder that is actually a calendar. The folder would be called meetign room or something similar, and when clicked you get a calendar. We would then use this to book times for the room. I know this can be done as I have seen it elsewhere, I am just not sure how to accomplish this? Any help would be appreciated!!

You need to create the public folder from your outlook but you first need to make sure you have the "top level folder creation" permission to add public folders. Follow this article for you to do this in Exchange.

Once you have done the above, open up your outlook and do the following:

(1) Under the folder list scroll down until you see
"Public Folders"
(2) Click the + sign next to "Public Folders". Than
highlight "All Public Folders". With this
highlighted, go to step 3
(3) At the top of your screen click on File==>New==>folder
(This will open up a new window. You will have 3
things go change here. The "Name", "Folder Contains",
and you will have to highlight "All Public Folders"
in the Window (See step4))
(4) NAME==>Name of public folder
Folder Contains==>Click down arrow and choose
"Appointment Items"
Select where to place folder window: You will need to
browse until you see "All Public Folders". Highlight
this in the window than click ok. This will place the
public folder beneath the All Public Folders tree and
give you a calendar.

Hope this helps. Let me know how you make out.
