Hey folks,

I'm trying to create a button in Flash 4 that when you press the button, the down image will stay down.

for example, if I had a triangle as the up image, a square as the over image, and a circle as the down image. when you press the button it would go triangle -> square then Cirlce, but it would stay on Circle till the movie moved on.

does any one have any idea's, I'm nearing my deadline, and am getting desperate!

thanks for any help.

Flash 4! Been a while!

You should be able to get away with it, by creating a new movie clip holding an exact replicate of your circle graphic, on it's second frame, but with a first blank keyframe with a stop action.
Position this clip over your button on another layer, and give it an instance name.
Next, add an on press action to your button tellTargeting that movie clip to move and stop on it's second frame, where the circle is visible.

When you want to get rid of it at some point, just tellTarget it back to it's frame 1, so that it's in fact invisible again.

Thanks very much,

I managed to solve it about 3 minutes before you replyed, my solution was pretty similar to that one. I've spent a week trying to get symbols to go Invisible to no avail.

thanks very much for your help.

Great! You could of maybe also played with the clip's visibility property, setting it on & off appropriately.
