Hi All,

First post :)

I have 2 machines running 1.03 server

I want to copy a VM from one to the other. I have tried simply copying the whole dir. I have tried changing the name of the vmdk, all I ever get when I start is a blank black screen.

Any pointers?

Thanks

Did you shut the vm down before you copied it?

Upgrade to 3.5 and it will do everything for you.
Your are on a pretty old version.

The latest version of VMWare Server on the VMWare website is v1.0.4 so you are not that far behind after all.

Why don't you try using the VMWare Converter on the target machine and import the image in rather than copying the files?
