Hi
I'm planing to convert my ultra 10 into a scsi based system.
The reson being I'm getting crap ide performance.

Anyhow what would be the cheapest method...
BTW I do not want to use Sun's own gear...to expensive

thank you

I have used PCI SCSI controller and ran SCSI devices on an Ultra 10.
PCI controller brought from Computer stores are not supported by Solaris.

Go to the web and look for used Sun parts.

I know Antares SCSI controllers work with Solaris. We have Sun clones and they use these boards. I think they have the same chipset as the sun controllers but are cheaper.

I have used the Anatares card. You are correct it has the Symbios chipset which Solaris has built in support using the GLM driver.
