Add or remove (or comment out) the definitions to the /etc/services file.

The process definition which will be listening on a port you will find in the /etc/inetd.conf file. Comment it out or add as required.

You will have to restart the inetd process afterwards by giving it a HUP.

Are you talking about serial, parallel, TCP, UDP ports?
I hope it works...
Unix was made by and for smart people.
