How do I check printer status via SNMP

I have just started using netcat for our network printing, but I am looking for a way to detect the printer's status. The HP printservers we use have a built-in SNMP agent. How can I communicate with it from the Unixware 7.1.1 server. I found a program called snmpstat, but could not figure it out. I am not sure what is our entity_address or community_string.

I forgot to mention that I also have no idea how to get or create an object name for the print server.
