How do I check the full specs of my pc:

What graphic card I have?
What sound card I have?
What type of memory I have?
What motherboard I have?

And anything else that is important to know.

I have checked device manager but I can only find what drivers I have and not the actual harware.

I want to turn my PC into a media PC to run Windows Windows XP Media Center Edition 2005. Before I start looking at what needs to be changed I need to know what I have

I use a combination of Belarc Advisor and the built-in DirectX Diagnostics utility. For a quick summary, go to:

1) Start -> Run
2) Type dxdiag and hit OK

There is also a free program (very similar to Everest Home), called "siw.exe", but is only 1.2 meg so you can carry it on a floppy. "Everest" is better, but "siw" doesn't need to be installed on the computer.

Aida32 has been renamed "Everest Home". Same program.

And Everest doesn't need to be installed either. Very handy to carry around on a CD

Cheers,
Brodie
