How do I change the stroke and fill on several shapes at once?

I have many shapes, some with strokes of varying widths, and some with fills, which are all colored black and white. I would like to change the color from black to red and preserve my fills and stroke properties. How can I do this without changing each shape individually?

The 'select' menu options allow you to select all elements with the same stroke color or fill color.
