I have name fields (Last, First, Middle) that are populated in all CAPS. I need to change this, for example:
change JANE W DOE to Jane W Doe.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

This really should be done on the database as names are not so simplistic to have caps as the first letter only, as an example:

O'Hara

The solution is also Crystal version dependent, which you omitted.

Here's the whitepaper from Crystal (note that it handles CR 9 and above differently from CR 8.5 and below):

Thanks so much, the article was the solution to my problem. I am using CR V9 and the database structure was determined long before I started working with it - so I'm stuck with many fields that have uppercase text. I'm so new to this - is that something easily changed by a database administrator or not?

Thanks again!

Storing uppercase is often a mistake borne of economics to save time typing, or it's an external list or legacy system.

A good database programmer (dba's aren't always database programmers) will have resources to help with replacing the uppercase text with lowercase, but again, simply changing the first character to uppercase isn't always right.

Crystal 9 has a ProperCase function you can use to convert LOTS OF CAPITALS to Lots Of Capitals.

Earlier versions had UpperCase and LowerCase, but It's useful to have ProperCase as well.
