I am about to take the CCNA/CCNP certifications, and I then have a couple of questions.

All these certifications have a lifetime of 3 years. Then I need to recertify to keep my certifications. But how does this work? Is it three years from the date I took my last certification? or is it from <date> to <date> ... where the dates are set by cisco? If the last one is true, then it could be strategically correct to wait, if the certifications are to be "upgraded" soon anyway? Can someone help me with some info on this matter?

It's 3 years from the time you earn the certification. For the CCNP, this would be the date of the last exam. You should be able to take and get credit for any current exam until it is retired. You'll take the new exam when your 3 years is up.

Ok, that was an informative answer. Thanx!

My CCNA "diploma" has the "Valid Through" date right on it, hard to be confused with that.

Lundah:
And that "Valid through" date is calculated from the date of your last CCNA exam right? :)
