Hey guys,

I'm a bit stuck on this problem which should be really simple. I'm trying to find out the percentage between two numbers. For instance:

I have 33,235 total records
I have 5,297 records out of the total that are product A

I want to find out how much percentage of product A is there from the total.

I tried entering 33,235 into cell A1 and 5,297 into cell B1 and then doing the formula A1/B1 in cell C. I get 6.27. But when I hit the percentage button, I get 627%. That doesn't sound right. Is the correct percentage 6.27%??

[pre]
A B C
33,235 5,297 15.94%
[/pre]

Formula in C1 is: =B1/A1
Column C is Formatted to: Percentage, 2 decimal places
Have fun.

A bus station is where a bus stops. A train station is where a train stops. On my desk, I have a work station.

Ahh I had it backwards. lol I knew it was simple. Thanks so much.

You could quite easily show all the Products in a PivotTable with Count of Product as the aggregation. Then right-click the Count of Product heading in your PT and select Show values as... > % of Grand Total.
