I have a WAG54G with a USB adpater on my desktop and a notebook adapter (all linksys) on my laptop. I need to boost the signal so that I can use the laptop in a building 50 meters or so across the garden. Right now the signal strength is only 37%. I don't think that powerlineboost wil work as the building is on a separate electical circuit. Any suggestions?

Have you consider looking at Linksys' Wireless-G Range Expander (WRE54G)? Its a rather great thing to have to boost mobility, esp in the area I have to do network servicing on for older homes with thick plaster walls, etc.

Make sure you check w/ Linksys support to see if the WRE54G and the WAG54G are compatible with each other. Then get the steps to configure one (sometimes its easy, other times it take a bit more steps).

hey before you buy (WRE54G) I bought to use it with WRG54GS and they are compatible at the linksys site tells you too, but did not improved the signal much, of course my situation was a bit different, this house is 27000 ft big, so is huge, I endup setting the router in the middle floor and the extender down in the basement, it worked ok, but I had to move both to get the best signal, now I also bought and going to add the big antenas for the router, hope it will improve and I can move the router back to the basement, there is where I have the pannel and I want to connect a switch for the other 20 data jacks the house have.
Suggestion: buy it at bestbuy, try it, if it does not please you, return it.
