Any helpful suggestions as to how to allocate Steplib in a foreground rexx exec will be appreciated.

hello,

I think you may be able to allocate your steplib as any regular existing datasets, or use ISPF LIBDEF (against DDNAME ISPLLIB) option.

anyway here is How I call a program located in one of my libraries without any reference to steplib or ispllib. the dataset is pecified on the call :

"CALL 'HH594D.TRS.LOAD(TRSMAIN)' 'PACK'"

hope it helps

STEPLIB is one of the protected DDnames. It can't be reallocated, and it can't be ALTLIBed. There are some add-on packages that get around this restriction by casting assembler spells, but most mainframe installations frown upon this sort of thing.
