I have created a report that summarizes data for a few years, now my boss wants to compare the data to what has happened in the past 6 mos. I have a query that does this but don't know how to get the data onto my report?
Hi there,
Here's a quick method: In the database window copy the report. Paste it right away and name it ...6Mo . Now place it in design view and double-click top left corner of the report view to pop up the reports properties dialog. Find the Record Source property on the "Data" tab. Change what ever it is to your new query (from the list!). I'm assuming the two are identical with the exception of your "filtering" for 6 months. There's fancier ways but this is real quick and easy. Hope you'll be satisfied! Gord

Thanks for the info., but I need both queries information on the same report. I am trying to use a subreport to do this now but am having problems getting the math on the subreport to work...man....you solve one problem and there are twenty more!
No problem! Kind of as above, copy the report, copy the queries too, and set them for your 6months. Now start chipping away at the copy till its suitable for use as a subreport in your original. When you figure you're close, Drag it on to your report and let the wizard do the rest for you.
P.S. Only twenty more? Geeze your lucky!!! Gord
