Hi

I am trying to troubleshoot some problems on my computer and need to access the Root folder and the bootlog.txt file in particular. Where on Windows do I find these?

Thanks

Hans

The term root seems to have been borrowed from UNIX systems, and usually refers to C:\ (My Computer, Local Disk (C:)

bootlog.txt is stored in this location.

It's a hidden file, so if you need to access it from within Windows, you'll need to choose Tools, Folder Options, View from within Explorer, and, under Hidden Files and Folders, click the appropriate radio button.

To access it from a DOS prompt, type attrib -s -h -r bootlog.txt (press Return), then edit bootlog.txt.

I hope this helps
