hi,

I want to disable the telnet, for the users and keep the configuration just on the console port, I tried access-list
but it doesn't work when I try to telnet with an ethernet client.
Is there a way to disable telnet on router?

An accesslist set up on the input side blocking telnet should work just fine. I use this to limit who can telnet to the routers.

You can also prevent all telnet access to the router --> under the "line vty 0 4" section, add "transport input none" and that will prevent all telnet access.

Also, check your running config and ensure there is not also a "line vty 5 15" section also. If there is do a "no line vty 5 15" or add the "transport input none" to that section also.

Hope this helps,
Paul
