Hello,
I'm a Novell CNE and Sun SCSA. I was able to self-study and pass those tests. Is Cisco CCNA a lot harder than CNE or SCSA? Does anyone have any experience that could tell me how much more difficult CCNA would be? Thanks.

I'm trying to remember how difficult the CNE exams were. Been a few years since I went through them to have that good of a memory. If you remember the Networking Technologies test for the CNE, I'd have to say that is a good intro into the CCNA. CCNA gets deeper in Subnetting and the OSI than what I remember having to know for the CNE studies.

I had a better background in Novell when I started with those exams, so I didn't have as much trouble as I did with the CCNA. I'd still say the exam for the CCNA was harder than the ones for the CNE, but I think part of that is because of how Novell did their adaptive testing and some of the exams were only 15-20 questions.

Get your hands on the good books (CiscoPress and Todd Lammle from Sybex) and a couple routers or sims, and you can get through it. Just don't be afraid to ask questions.

Thanks, lerdalt.
