Hello I was crusing sites on the net and came across
If you go to the site and click any of the navigation buttons, say the 'work' button you will notice an image appears. All of these images have blue tint on the bottom half and a orange tine on the top half. Is there a way in PS to apply this effect to any image?

Start with a grayscale image.
Create a new layer, and set the blending mode to multiply.
Click on the gradient tool, and in the options bar at the top, click the thumbnail of the gradient.
Click 'New' to create a new gradient, and click on the color stop to the left.
Change that color to blue.
Change the right hand color to orange.
Click somewhere in the middle and create a white color stop.
Give it a name if you like, and click ok.
Now, with the new top layer selected, drag from top to bottom.
Done.

Correction!

They didn't use multiply as the blending mode. More likely something like Color.

Or even easier!

Instead of creating a new standard layer, create a new gradient adjustment layer. Much better!

thanks blueark I will give it a try when I get home tonight

It's working well with the gradient adjustment layer...set the blending mode to color.

Regards,
Dragos.
