I basically want to setup an outlook contact list that everyone in our group could see and update if necessary. Would i have to create a new account and then share its contact list with everyone in my group??? Thanks for the help!
You just need to create a new public folder (if you don't have permissions on your exchange server you'll have to get an exch admin to do it for you - you are using exchange???). Then just assign the appropriate permissions to the people you want to be able to edit or read the contact items and you're there...
Would it appear just like the contacts folder in outlook under my profile??? Yes we are on exchange. I know I can just put a spreadsheet in the public folders, but I would rather have a contact folder that doesn't store emails, rather it stores contacts. Thanks for the help!!!!
Paladyr, as PJM mentioned, create a Public Folder that contains Contacts, and make everyone a part of the group that has permissions to the folder. Public Folders are one of the least used functions, yet if used and maintained properly, one of the most beneficial to organizations/companies that need to share info. If it ain't broken, play with it till it breaks.
