How complicated is the common flash project?

I've noticed, just to do little things requires a LOT of work in Flash...a lot of my projects have very little frames, but now that I'm doing a lot of animated menus, etc...there are usually over 100...how many of you guys' movies are really large?...I'm just wondering if I'm the only one doing things the complicated way.

Right now, I have a navigation that will reach over 100 frames...just for the navigation. Regards,

I usually have many scenes with relatively short timelines, unless I am using sound and synching it up.

Generally, I like to create longer movie clips and drag them into my main timeline. This creates shorter timelines , and I can control the movies using some simple action scripting.

Most of the movies I do these days are only one frame long. With a bit of planning you can usually replace motion tweens etc with a simple bit of script which brings the movie's size right down and makes things easier to debug and manage in general.

I think it depends on the project and what you want out of using flash. I realy love animating on the time line and doing funky FX that way. the site I'm currently working on is just under 100 frames (main movie) but I'm using animated movie clips for the navigation and loading movies for the different pages/areas. On the movies I'm loading, the window open and close sequence is just over 100 frames but there is a frame between those two bit's with all my MC's on it for the menu's, text etc. - I found that the more navigation systems I built or site ideas that I started, I allways get to a stage where I can see where I could have done it better, that's why I've never finished a site for my self yet. funkymonk B-)
