How come the Cisco Visio Icons don't work??

Hi everyone,
I downloaded the cisco icons for switches and router and I placed them in the following path: c:\program files\visio\solutions\network diagram (the same place where other icons such as Network Shapes, Network 2D etc. are located) but it does not work. I dont even get a tab for routers at all next to Network Shapes and Network Shaped 2D etc...

I even added a new folder in the solutions directory called cisco and place the icons there and when I go to open a new file i see an option for cisco with network diagram and etc but it does not open from there either. I just get a hour glass for a long long time... :-( :-( :-(

Just for the sake of asking, you did un-zip them right? If so double check that the path for stencils under the Tools>Options>File Paths is set to Solutions.

One thing I might note is that after I tried to download and install the icons (to Visio 2000 in this case) it took almost a minute to view the routers when selected from the stencils menu. This was apparently due the ammount of devices in that particular file, it's very large. The application actually seemed to have frozen up, then came back to function.


Imcidentally I installed unzipped them directly to the Solutions folder to a subfolder called Cisco. No problem after that. Regards,

This is true.. it takes "forever" for the icons to load.. but they do work I ran them under Visio 2000 Pro..
