I'm running Metaframe XP, and I do not understand why when remote users login, it does not map their local printer. Does it have anything to do with the fact that their printer is shared with other computers on a workgroup network? Of if the printer is shared by and A,B switch? I'm very confused, because when I'm at home and I login, I have a HP4L and it maps perfectly. Does it have to do with drivers? The printers that will not map are HP 4100n and HP 4050. any suggestions would be highly appreciated.

Thanks.

Make sure you have a driver mapped!!! I have a 4050 and it maps perfectly.

have it mapped on the local machine? or on citrix.. I'm sorry. i'm new to citrix... But on the local machine, it's set as default. and the drivers are installed in citrix.. but when the remote user logs on, he cannot see his local printer (4050)

Yes, in the Citrix Management Console, you will need to map it. You can go to the Printers, open and go to Drivers-right click and choose mapping. Name it exactly as you have it named on the client and select the appropriate driver.

Hope this helps.

Look for a file called [tt]WTSUPRN.INF[/tt] on your server. On mine it's [tt]M:\WTSRV\System32\Wtsuprn.inf[/tt]. You need to find out the EXACT printer driver name on the clients that aren't getting their printer mapped and add them to this file. The printer driver they map to MUST be one that is installed on the server.

Oops! My reply is NOT Metaframe XP. I don't know if this applies!
