How combine 2 disk to one root partition

Hi,
I guess I'm confused about what you are trying to do, but I will give it a try. When you create only a root partition /usr, /var /opt are created for you on the root patition. For example they would be located on /dev/dsk/c0t0d0s0 slice of you disk. You would then create a mount point for you second disk on disk 0.
If this server is going to be a print server, it might be a good idea to create a partition for /var. It helps to know what this server is being used for and how much space should be alloted for each slice. Our config usually allows 512 for the root partition and 256. It a good idea to break you disk into slices for backup and restore.

Hi,
If you spread a partition that you need to boot your machine over more than one disk you, could significantly increase your chances of having a system that won't boot. Instead of having one chance in a million (or however many) you have two chances in a million -- because either disk failing could render your system unbootable. Safest thing is to mirror the two disks -- you gain resilience at the price of some disk space. Mike
