How change colors of text in textarea of the applet.

I am creating chat application which as an applet with textarea in which the messages are displayed. I want show two different messages with different colors. But when I try to change forground color of the textarea colors of all the messages get changed which i do not want. I want to change color of particular message while keeping previous messages with the same color(like old message with black color and new message with red color.)

Can Any one help me out
