I am a relatively new user to crystal 10 so i would appreciate any help or tips on my problem. At the moment I have around 100 queries in BI Query. The queries are stored in SQL format. I was wondering if you guys know of any ways to forward those queries to Crystal 10 so that I could run them there. Both Crystal and BI query is connected to the same live database. Also are you aware of any ways where I can import/make a model of data tables for the database as a favourite rather than adding each table individually to run queries.

Cyrstal includes the ability to create SQL Expression Fields, from Field Explorer. I know nothing about "BI Query", but it ought to do.

As for making a model of favourite tables, what I do is made a template report and use [Save As] to make specific copies for particular uses. There is also a template function within Crystal, but I've never used it.

thanks alot Madawc W, iv tried that route already for some reason crystal doesnt seem to recognise the SQL query copied over from BIQuery (BIQuery is made by Hummingbird) i get errors about icluding date, string etc.

Dialects of SQL? If it is systematic, copy to MS Word, then do a mass replace so that the SQL is accepted.

I don't have CR 10, but I think you would want to try the SQL query in datasource->add command area.

Don't add tables at all, in the database expert, you'll see a choice of Add Command under the database connection, select that and then paste in your SQL.

SQL Expressions are generally for working with individual fields or subqueries within an existing connection.

Note that you can create and insert parameters into the SQL at that time also.
