This is not specific to Exchange Server, what are the specifics you can find out about a sender if they sent you a sneaky or threatening email? In other words, besides just having their email address, what, if anything, else can be found out?

My head should have stopped hurting by now.

Examining the Header of an email will show you the original IP address of the sending server, and will also show you all the "hops" that were traversed along the way. You can also see the format the email was sent in and the return path (or email address), amongst other things. Keep in mind, a spammer will most likely alter the return path, and will also bounce emails off of unsuspecting "relay" servers.

Thanks, but this is not much help to the average person trying to find out who sent something right?

My head should have stopped hurting by now.

If you are using Outlook, right-click on the message and select 'Options'. At the bottom of the wndow you will find the header info.

When all else fails, READ THE DAMN BOOK!
