Have a student who has six drives in library idle, but when he clones his volumes manually he can only get one volume to clone at a time. The others queue up. I called Legato and was told that is how NetWorker is set up. But I find it hard to believe. Is there anyone who has had multiple volume clones running at the same time, using same storage node and library with multiple drives being used? Thanks.

We use custom scripts that we obtained from "The Networker Journal". These scripts clone "by volume" and will use as many tape drives as you allow it for cloning. So, with 6 drives, you could clone 3 volumes at a time. The scripts use the standard "nsrclone" mechanism, so the media and index databases know about the clones. Check it out at:

I will definately check it out. Thank you so much for the advice jarvis24x7. I will forward this information to my student and also my technical staff. Again thanks!
