How can we link two subreports to a report so that Only one is display

I want to link two sub reports to a report so that When we select a parameter only one of them is displayed .The main report should have the values and the sub reports should be displayed based on the parameter selected.If there is any resource that displayes this in detail I would really appreciate it a lot.
