A few years ago I detailed my install notes for VFP 9 in thread184-1620637. Alas, time for a new computer and another install. All went well until I got to the step for installing Hotfix #3 (Build 9.0.0.7423 02/23/2009).

When searching for VFP Sp2 Hotfix #3 this page is still there, so far so good:

When I tried to use the link there to download Hotfix #3 ( it brought me to the page "The Archive Gallery has been retired."

Clearly, the link is broken, does Microsoft have another location to download it?

I'll see if I can snag the changed files from my old computer, but shouldn't this get fixed or made available somehow for our legacy VFP community's future?

Thank you, download worked! And it looks like a recent addition there, I guess MS dropping the download was done without fanfare. This reminds me of that old FoxPro (not Visual) speed patch about 15 years ago for computers with CPUs faster than 300MHz, after a few years it disappeared from downloads and had to be made available by the community.

This thread reminds me that it is not just hotfixes that we are in danger of losing. It's likely that Microsoft will also retire service packs before long. At present, it's still possible to download SP2 for VFP 9.0, but that won't last forever.

When you move your development environment to a new computer, you can install VFP itself from the original CD - but that doesn't apply to service packs. So make sure you have backups of all the service packs and other downloadable components that you are likely to need.

Thanks for this post guys! I had the same problem.. I get that it's no longer supported, but I guess I thought that mean nothing NEW would be created. Oh well, I will be keeping the SP's & hotfixes on disk.
