How can we create a new customer in a PBX
What are the advantages
Can the new customer uses some of the programmed stuff like TGAR, NCOS, ets
And how would it communicate with meridian mail,
can the new customer uses the same link as customer 0
reason for the above questions is :
1/2 of one floors has been leased to another company
they are moving in and they want to use our phone system
they made arrangemnt with the phone company to bring there lines to our premises and hook it to Meridian 1 ( Cards are available)
we have enough free TNs to accomodate them and enough room on meridian mail
they should not be able to dial 0 to reach reception (not the same company)
and should call out on there own lines
that is why i thought of a new Customer
am I right or there is an easier solution

Thanks

Basically it will be like installing a new switch for the first time.

It all depends on what they need. They will have the same options available to them that you have but they may not need them and you will need to program only the features they will need. they will have there own trunks and operator there will not be a connection between the two Customers unless you make one with a tie line. the best way to start is to print your CDB, RDB and if your using NARS or BARS you could do those print outs to. You can make it just like your customer 0 is now or

Start in
LD 15
REQ NEW
TYPE CDB
CUST 1

Thanks Mr Acewarlock
what about Meridian Mail?
Thanks

In order to create a new customer in mail the mail needs MULIT-CUSTOMERS software, to see if you have it go into tools and choose the options prompt

What you may want is Multi Tenant Services. This would allow some of the same things to be common like mermail and trunks while seperating LD trunks and consoles. Requires package 86

Thank you PERRYPJ
Thank you Reusser

i will check to see if we do have the PKG 86 for PBX
Thanks

we do not have PKG 86 in the PBX
and there is no multi-customer software in meridian mail

IF YOU DON'T, GET YOUR WALLET OUT AND START DIGGING DEEP

If by some chance you don't have Multi Cust package 2, then you could have then use a different NARS access code like maybe you use 9 to make a call you could have the other cust use 8 to make a call setting it up in NARS to use different trunks. there may be the ocasional time they might use the wrong NARS code so you would need to use a Call Accounting program to make sure you can billback the cost to the other company. all in all this can be done, but it is a pain in the ass to maintain if you have to do the Billing also.
