How can update the firmware for a Avaya Digital phone 2410?
I have some issues from a client, him says that the phone has some noise like this "ssssss".
But i try in another pbx and works fine.
May be could be the firmware?
I tried the phone ina Definity Prologyx , the client also has a Definity Prologyx

First, you need something that runs a TFTP server.
This could be an S8300/S8400/S8500 server (not an S87XX, it does not support TFTP)

Next, you copy the 2410_R6.bin and 2420_R6.bin files to the directory that serves out your TFTP files, on an S-Series server, this is the "/tftpboot" directory.

Then you create a "node-name" for this TFTP server via "change node-names ip"

Next, issue a "change tftp" command, file put in either a CLAN or PE address, your TFTP server node-name, and the filename, in your case "2410_R6.bin"

FYI, the files can be downloaded from support.avaya.com

the file will download to either the CLAN specidifed or the Processor Ethermet (PE)

Then issue a "change firmware station" command, put in your extension #, and if you want to upgrade immediatly or schedule it.

Done, give it 7-8 minutes per phone.

check on it via "status firmware station"

honey, i fried the IP Office !!!

tlpeter, he was asking about 2410 digital phones, not about 4620 IP phones. Digital phones require the firmware to be downloaded to a CLAN or PE virtual interface via TFTP, then the switch pushes out the update via the digtal port to the phone, at a very slow speed (9600 baud)
