how can i desable it ..

This may be a possibility, as I have had this myself... Do you use the start menu--> run to launch explorer, etc (I do start menu-->run c: --> enter to quickly get to the C drive. If you have used this to get to the A: drive, every time explorer refreshes the screen, it will do a check of the floppy. You can remove these entries from the registry. You might need to reboot after removing them.

Simon.

check to see if "A:\" is in your search path. If it is, remove it.
